Boudreau setting the pace offensively early on

Blake Boudreau isn’t a big fan of heading home to watch sports. He is; however, a huge fan of getting down to business when he gets to the rink. Whether it be for practice or a game, Boudreau loves playing the game and his junior journey has brought him to Dauphin.

Following a 50-game season last year in the Ontario Junior Hockey League where he played 22 games with the Georgetown Raiders and 28 games with the Caledon Admirals, the Kings acquired the speedy and flashy forward.

Playing top-line minutes, Boudreau has fit in nicely with the team and has already found offensive success, scoring twice and adding one assist in the team’s three games.

“I was just coming in with an open mind, I think that’s important when playing in a new league,” said Boudreau. “I’ve really enjoyed my time here in Dauphin, we have a great group and a great coaching staff.”

Boudreau will be back on the ice Friday night when the Kings hit the road to play the Swan Valley Stampeders. It’s the first all-Parkland battle of the campaign. Dauphin is coming off an 8-4 loss which Boudreau says was not indicative of this team and he believes the club will respond on Friday.

“We’re really excited to get back on the ice, we can’t worry about that game, it’s in the past,” said Boudreau.

What’s your favourite hockey memory? When I was playing high school hockey, we won a game 1-0, it was for charity and the crowd was packed, which was pretty amazing

Boudreau has been a solid contributor so far and you can expect that to continue as the season continues Friday night in Swan Valley.
