THE PAS, MB - They had good stretches but a bad two minutes in the second period ended up costing the Dauphin Kings in a 5-2 loss Tuesday night in OCN.
The Blizzard opened the scoring Tuesday, tallying the only goal in the opening period despite being out shot by the Kings 15-10.
In the middle frame the Kings played well for the first 10 minutes and Thomas Hansell scored his 10th of the season to make it a 1-1 contest. However, the Blizzard scored two goals a minute apart in the final three minutes of the period to go ahead 3-1.
OCN would notch a goal early in the final frame to make it a 4-1 game. Wilson Northey scored his 7th of the season to cut the Blizzard lead in half but late in the contest OCN would score an empty netter to seal the deal.
Brennan Kitchen gave his team a chance to win, playing very well in the second period, but Dauphin couldn't grab the go ahead goal. Kitchen stopped 36 of 40 shots while his team put 32 on the OCN net.
The Kings had one man advantage goal on Tuesday while the Blizzard had two.
The loss puts the Kings at 10-33-2 on the season. Their next action comes on Friday when they visit the Waywayseecappo Wolverines. Game time is 7:30pm!
