Blizzard Edge Kings 1-0

DAUPHIN, MB - One bad bounce in the third period ended up being the difference as the Dauphin Kings dropped a 1-0 decision to the Northern Manitoba Blizzard Tuesday night at Credit Union Place.

The goal didn't come until the third period when the Blizzard were on their fourth man advantage. A weird bounce off the boards ended up catching Kings goalie Cole Sheffield off guard and would eventually find its way to the back of the net.

Northern Manitoba had five Power Plays Tuesday night while Dauphin had just two. The Kings didn't get their first opportunity until the early stages of the third period. Dauphin finished the night 0 for 2 while the Blizzard were 1 for 5.

Cole Sheffield deserved a better fate on Tuesday. He was arguably Dauphin's best player. Sheffield stopped 31 of 32 shots while the Kings had 21 on the Blizzard goal.

The loss puts the Kings at 32-16-2-1 on the year and now four points ahead of Northern Manitoba for first in the West Division. Dauphin still controls their own destiny with five games remaining on their season.

Next on the docket for the Kings is a date with the Portage Terriers on Friday. It's the Kings' second to last home game of the regular season and Early Bird Season Tickets will be back on sale! The game is also sponsored by Reit Syd Equipment in Dauphin. Game time is 7:30pm!
