Big weekend set

The Dauphin Kings lacked a sense of urgency on Tuesday night in a 4-0 loss against OCN.

The good thing is Dauphin can get back in the win column on Friday night when they open up a crucial weekend home-and-home with Waywayseecappo. The Kings enter the series four points back of  first place in the West Division. They also only have a one-point lead over Neepawa for the final playoff spot in the division.

Dauphin continues to search for consistency. When playing at their best, Dauphin has proven that they can beat anyone in the league and score plenty of goals.

The Wolverines; meanwhile, are led by Carson Baptiste and Andrew Boucher who have combined for 84 points this year, 37 of which have been goals. Dauphin has scored one more goal than the Wolverines this season, but Waywayseecappo has given up 17 fewer goals.

The season series between Dauphin and Waywayseecappo has been back and forth. The Wolverines opened things with a 6-4 win in Dauphin before the Kings responded two days later in a 5-0 win in Waywayseecappo which featured a hat-trick from Mason Smith. The Wolverines won the last contest between the two clubs in a shootout, 5-4. After this weekend, the teams will play one final time in the regular season on March 7.
