Bax takes top spot this week

The Dauphin Kings picked up a massive win on Sunday as they put up a seven spot to down the Niverville Nighthawks.

Just as he has been all season long, Anthony Bax was great in the team’s win and he is the top star in this week’s Parkland Source for Sports Three Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Anthony Bax

His work ethic is thru the roof and Anthony Bax has been a key piece to Dauphin’s success this year.

In his first year with the team, Bax had an excellent weekend, including a two-point performance on Sunday when he had one goal and one assist.

Earlier in the game, he was ran into the boards, but after missing just a couple of minutes, Bax was back on the ice which was amazing to see.

2nd Star – Mathew Gough

When Mathew is firing on all cylinders, he’s extremely tough to stop. He leads the team in scoring this year with 22 goals and 27 assists.

He chipped in with a goal on a beautiful play on Sunday while also adding two assists.

Gough uses his great speed to create space for himself and his shot is no easy task to stop. Gough also has six power play goals.

3rd Star – Jamie Valentino

The now 21-year-old from Thompson knows how to win when things get tough. He won an SJHL title last year with the Estevan Bruins and he was brought on this to help as Dauphin looks to run it back.

It was a great Sunday for Jamie as well as he scored one goal and added two assists.

Valentino also doesn’t shy away from any contact and he’s scored eight goals with Dauphin this year while adding 17 assists for 25 points in as many games.
