Sheffield on top again this week

Cole Sheffield is starting to run away with the Parkland Source for Sports Three Stars of the Week.

He’s the first star this week after another outstanding performance.

1st Star: Cole Sheffield

Every game the rest of the way is important for the Dauphin Kings and that was the case on Sunday when they welcomed the OCN Blizzard to town.

Two nights after Dmytro Kubrytskyi put on a show for fans, Sheffield did that on Sunday.

He was excellent turning away 36 of the 37 shots he faced as he helped Dauphin earn their fourth straight win and it saw the team jump up into a tie for first place in the West Division in the process.

Sheffield has a .919 save percentage this season along with a 2.61 goals-against average.

2nd Star: Dmytro Kubrytskyi

He made his Kings debut on Friday and it got off to a rocky start when the 20-year-old from Kyiv, Ukraine, allowed a goal on the first shot he saw.

From there, it was the  Kubrytskyi show as he turned away 27 straight shots as Dauphin downed OCN, 5-2, in front of more than 2000 fans at Credit Union Place.

Dmytro looks very calm between the pipes and he made several key saves in the game that allowed Dauphin to get down to business offensively.

3rd Star: Owen Wareham

He played his 100th Manitoba Junior Hockey League game with the Kings on Sunday and he helped the team win their 24th game.

A great leader on and off the ice, Wareham continues to enjoy a career year with his two goals and 24 assists.

He had the secondary assist on Jayden Harris’ goal on Friday and he put together another solid defensive game on Sunday.
