Kings make key additions

The trade deadline across the Canadian Junior Hockey League has come and gone and the Dauphin Kings made two key additions to their club.

In the team’s first trade, Dauphin acquired Sam Boldt from the Weyburn Red Wings of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The 19-year-old scored one time and added seven assists in 20 games with Weyburn this year.

Sam quarterbacked the power play in Weyburn and he’s expected to make a big difference on Dauphin’s special team units.

Then Dauphin went out and secured some offensive firepower as Blake Boudreau returned to the organization.

Boudreau began the season with Dauphin where he scored eight times and added 10 assists in 20 games. He also scored what could do down as the goal of the year against the Portage Terriers.

Boudreau bolsters a Dauphin attack that has scored 33 goals over their past seven games.

King Tips:

  • Dauphin enters Wednesday’s game just two points back of Waywayseecappo for first place in the West Division
  • Dauphin has won five of their last seven games
  • The remainder of the team’s six games in January come against divisional opponents, three of which are against OCN
  • Looking ahead, Dauphin plays Niverville for the first time on February 3 and they make their first trip to Niverville two days later on February 5
