DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings will close out their 50th Anniversary Season this week with three games on their docket.
In case you missed it last week the Kings came up short with three losses, two to Selkirk and one to Steinbach.
This week the Kings play host to their final regular season home game when they take on the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Tuesday at Credit Union Place. After Tuesday Dauphin hits the road to close out the season, they'll be in Swan River on Friday and Virden on Saturday.
All three games this week are 7:30pm starts, and don't forget Tuesday's game is also AWARDS NIGHT!
THREE STARS
In past years the Three Stars of the Week were announced each Monday throughout the regular season. That aspect of the three stars will not change, but now being added into the mix is a point system with a "Three Stars Trophy" to be awarded at the end of the regular season when the Kings hold their Awards Night. This year the Kings' Awards Night will take place on Tuesday February 27th when Dauphin hosts Waywayseecappo at Credit Union Place.
The point system works like this:
1st Star = 5 points
2nd Star = 3 points
3rd Star = 1 point
At the end of the season the player with the most points will win the trophy which will be presented by Parkland Source for Sports!
Each week the standings will be updated in the "Three Stars of the Week" article.

THIRD STAR - JAYMES KNEE
Jaymes Knee put up just one goal in three games last week for the Kings.
However, the Brandon forward had a successful Sunday as he was named to the MJHL's Rookie All Star Team. It's a very well deserved accolade for Knee, who was disappointingly passed over by the league when it came to the selection process for the MJHL/SJHL Showcase back in January.
Coming into this week Knee leads the Kings in scoring with 11 goals and 24 assists for 35 points.

SECOND STAR - WILSON NORTHEY
Wilson Northey added one goal and two assists for the Kings in three games last week.
Northey has been one of the hardest working players on Dauphin all season and will finish off his junior career later this week in Virden.
The North Vancouver product is fourth on the Kings in points with 10 goals and 16 assists for 26. The total is the highest in his Junior A career.

FIRST STAR - KYLE OLEKSIUK
Kyle Oleksiuk was once again the top forward for the Dauphin Kings last week.
The Winnipeg forward added two goals and an assist to his total and gained a number of quality scoring chances throughout the week.
Oleksiuk comes into action this week second in Kings scoring, but he's just one point back of Jaymes Knee for the lead. Oleksiuk has 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points on the season, that's more than double his total from last season (9G, 4A = 13PTS).
