Lamb Commits To University of British Columbia (CIS)
June 20th, 2010 - Dauphin, MB - Your Dauphin Kings are pleased to announce that 20 year old graduating forward Bryce Lamb has committed to the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds men's hockey program for the 2010/11 school year.
The Killarney, MB native was a dominant two way forward for the Anavet Cup Champion Kings. He was instrumental on the power play and penalty kill and was the best face-off man in the MJHL last season.
Lamb played 78 games for the Kings during the regular season, MJHL Playoffs and Anavet Cup, and registered 48 goals and 65 assists for 113 points to go along with 142 penalty minutes. He dominated in the face-off circle as he had a winning percentage of 83.5%.
"Lamber was the first player to come forward last summer and commit to our program. He got everything started. He wanted to come to Dauphin and end his junior career off by playing big minutes and winning a championship. He was for our success up front. He played in every situation there was and his ability to win face-offs on a consistent basis was phenomenal," says Kings' Head Coach and G.M. Marlin Murray. "He is a really gifted player who has a great shot, strong hockey sense and a very high willingness to compete. He should do very well at the next level."

Kings' Captain Commits To Providence (NCAA)
June 11th, 2010 - Dauphin, MB - Your Dauphin Kings are proud to announce that 20 year old captain Steven Shamanski has committed to the Providence Friars mens hockey team (NCAA Div. 1) for the 2010/11 school year.
Shamanski enjoyed three successful seasons with the Kings, including being the team captain on the 2010 MJHL and Anavet Cup Championship team. While playing at both the forward and defence positions throughout the 2009/10 season, he netted 19 goals and 52 assists for 71 points in 62 games.
The Carberry, MB native would excel throughout the MJHL Playoffs, as he scored 7 goals and had 15 assists for 22 points in only 13 games to lead the entire Manitoba Junior Hockey League in playoff scoring. Shamanski would also score 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points in 6 games during the 2010 RBC Cup National Championship.
Shamanski also took home several awards throughout the season, including being named the MJHL's Top Defenceman, the MJHL's Player of the Year, a finalist for the CJHL's Player of the Year, first team All-Star and the RBC Cup scholarship award winner along with several Defenceman of the Month, Player of the Week awards.
"The Kings are very happy for Steven and is family. Steven is a special player who's skill level, hockey sense and competitive nature allowed him to acheive great success at both the forward and defence positions this season," says Kings' Head Coach and G.M. Marlin Murray. "Shammy was willing to move to forward late in the regular season and he was a tremendous asset throughout the playoffs and led our hockey club to the MJHL and Anavet Cup Championships and an RBC Cup finals appearance. He was the best defenceman in the MJHL this season and he is very dedicated to his studies. He will continue to enjoy great success on the ice and in the classroom next season at the NCAA level.

Luke Commits To Providence For 2011/12 Season
June 3rd, 2010 - Dauphin, MB - Your Dauphin Kings are excited to announce that 19 year old forward Shane Luke has committed to the Providence Friars mens hockey team (NCAA Div. 1) for the 2011/12 school year.
Luke has enjoyed three very successful seasons with the Kings. He scored 40 goals as an 18 year old and led the Kings and the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in scoring this past season as a 19 year old with 29 goals and 72 assists for 101 points. The left winger is a two way player who is very gifted in the offensive zone.
The Ste. Rose du Lac native scored 10 goals and added 5 assists in the MJHL Playoffs as he led the Kings to the Turnbull Trophy as MJHL Champions. He was also named the 2010 RBC Cup MVP, as the Kings went 5-1 during the National Championship and finished second to the Vernon Vipers.
"Shane Luke is a tremendous player. He is a proven leader on and off the ice. He is a very likable person who works hard everyday. He has improved every year as a Dauphin King and has matured into a young man. His down to earth attitude, hard working demeanour and overall competitiveness are all strong qualities in which allow his skill level to take over," says Kings' Head Coach and G.M. Marlin Murray. "We are looking forward to having him back for his final year of junior and will be counting on him heavily. We are very happy for Shane!"
Luke is excited about playing his final year of junior hockey eligibility with the Kings before playing for Providence during the 2011/12 season.
"I have accepted a full scholarship for the fall of 2011 at Providence College, Rhode Island. I had an opportunity to visit the college a week ago and it was a great experience. I was given a tour of the campus, the arena and city and it feels like it'll be a great fit. Being able to go to school and play hockey at the NCAA level is really exciting," says Luke. "Marlin Murray, David Anning and the Dauphin Kings organization have been extremely supportive and instrumental in providing me with this opportunity. I'm looking forward to coming back to Dauphin as a twenty year old and making a positive contribution to another great season."

Czibere Commits To Elite CIS Hockey Program
June 2nd, 2010 - Dauphin, MB - Your Dauphin Kings are pleased to announce that 20 year old forward Mitch Czibere has committed to the University of Alberta Golden Bears men's hockey program (CIS) for the upcoming school year.
Czibere joined the Kings program after spending four successful seasons in the WHL between the Vancouver Giants and Regina Pats. Mitch captured the Memorial Cup with the Giants.
The Fort Saskatchewan, AB native netted 22 goals to go along with 29 assists for 51 points in 46 games last season with the Kings. He also had 10 points, including 8 goals, in the MJHL Playoffs and was second in Anavet Cup scoring with 9 points in 5 games. The two-way centreman was named the Anavet Cup MVP. He also took home several awards at the Kings Awards Banquet, including Playoff MVP, Most Inspirational and Best Defensive Player.
"Mitch was the best two way forward in the MJHL this season. He was a big part of our PK and our second PP unit. He was the type of player who would be on the ice with 30 seconds left in the game if we were down a goal or up a goal. He was an excellent face-off man all season. The experience and leadership he brought to our hockey club was at an all time high. He was used in a shut down role in the playoffs, as he was matched up against the opposition's top line and did a tremendous job. It's not easy to have the success he had against the Stevens line (Swan Valley Stampeders), Simchuk line (Winnipeg Saints) and Brennan line (La Ronge Ice Wolves) while producing secondary scoring as well. He is a warrior," stated Kings' Head Coach and G.M. Marlin Murray.
The University of Alberta Golden Bears is the elite of the elite when it comes to CIS hockey programs. "I had very good conversations with Coach Thurston about Mitch and his make up. His skill level is really good and we both felt Mitch will buy into any role that comes his way while playing with such an elite program. It would not surprise me at all if Mitch wore a letter some day with their program," says Murray. "It's not everyday that players get to wear a Golden Bears jersey. This is a special day for Mitch and the Dauphin Kings."

Ziemer and Michaud Commit To The Laredo Bucks (CHL)
May 27th, 2010 - Dauphin, MB - Several of your Dauphin Kings continue to graduate to higher levels of hockey following a very successful season. Most recently, Zeanan Ziemer and Justin Michaud both committed to the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League.
Ziemer joined the Kings after three successful years with the OCN Blizzard. He was a game breaker every night for the Kings and quarterbacked their strong power play.
The Brandon, MB native scored the double overtime goal in Game 2 of the Anavet Cup against La Ronge. The goal was pivotal for the Kings in winning the Anavet Cup. He was 8th in the league in scoring with 25 goals and 51 assists to go along with 121 penalty minutes. He continued his success in the MJHL Playoffs by producing 6 goals and 12 assists.
"Z was an unbelievable player for us. He was the most dynamic player in the MJHL without a doubt. He fit in real well with our group and was a very likeable person," says Head Coach and G.M. Marlin Murray. "He just gave us that 'X' factor every night to win. When we acquired him in a trade, I really liked our chances of being successful."
Michaud came to the Kings via a trade from the Selkirk Steelers during the 2009/10 season. Justin ended his junior hockey career by winning the MJHL Championship and Anavet Cup. Justin scored 6 goals and added 9 assists while racking up a team high 147 penalty minutes during the regular season. The Selkirk, MB native, known as the 'heavy weight' fighter of the MJHL, gave the Kings an element in which they were lacking at the start of the season.
"Mich was outstanding for us this season. His production on the ice was secondary. He bought into his role and did it very well. He was well respected by his teammates and gave our skilled guys room to move out on the ice. Justin is a very tough kid who gave his teammates protection on a nightly basis," explains Head Coach and G.M. Marlin Murray.

Esposito Commits To University of Regina (CIS)
26th, 2010 - Dauphin, MB - Your Dauphin Kings are excited to announce that 20 year old forward Cody Esposito has committed to the University of Regina Cougars hockey team for the 2010/11 school year.
Esposito was a big addition for the Kings this past season. Cody ended his junior career by winning an MJHL Championship, Anavet Cup and was a National Finalist.
The Airdrie, AB native played in 43 games for the Kings and tallied 23 goals and 18 assists for 41 points to go along with 83 penalty minutes. Cody, a tremendous skater and shooter, brought a physical presence to his game as well. He battled through injuries during the MJHL Playoffs where he scored 4 goals and added one assist in 9 games. He also scored the game winning goal in Game 5 of the MJHL Championship as the Kings captured the Turnbull Trophy.
"Espo was a great addition to our hockey club this past season. He was well respected by his teammates, coaches and our opposition on a nightly basis. He is a tough customer with real good skill level," commented Kings' Head Coach and G.M. Marlin Murray. "In the playoffs he played a crucial role of matching up against other teams top lines and was successful in that role. He has top end speed and posses a great shot. He should have a successful career at the CIS level."

Caligiuri Commits To University of Manitoba (CIS)
May 25th, 2010 - Dauphin, MB - Your Dauphin Kings are pleased to announce that 20 year goaltender Joe Caligiuri has committed to the University of Manitoba Bisons hockey team for the 2010/11 school year.
The Winnipeg, MB native enjoyed a very successful season with the Kings, as he was near the top of all MJHL goaltending statistics. Caligiuri went 29-6-1 in regular season play with a .909 save percentage and 2.59 goals against average. He would then go 11-1 in the MJHL Playoffs, with a .930 save percentage and 1.70 goals against average as he led the Kings to the Turnbull Trophy as MJHL Champions. His strong play would continued into the Anavet Cup, where he went 3-1 with a .927 save percentage and 1.67 goals against average to help the Kings capture their first Anavet Cup title in 27 years.
"Squid has been a tremendous player for us all year. He is a calm customer. He never seems to get rattled and his overall skill level is tremendous. After Christmas, down the stretch and into the playoffs, he elevated his game to a new level and was pivotal in the success we had all year. The Bisons are getting not only a very good goalie but a great, likeable and coachable young man," commented Kings' Head Coach and G.M. Marlin Murray.
