Kings Sign Two Players On Deadline Day
January 11th, 2010 - Dauphin, MB - Your Dauphin Kings added two players at the CJHL trade deadline yesterday, as they signed 19 year old forward Dale Hunt and 19 year old defenceman Joel Kot.
Kot, a Moose Jaw, SK native, comes to Dauphin after spending the last two seasons with the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League. Kot recorded 5 goals and 16 assists for 21 career points in the WHL. The 5'11, 193 lb defenceman is expected to bring a veteran presence to the Kings along with an excellent skill set.
Hunt, a Sanford, MB native, joins the Kings after spending time with the Prince George Cougars and Everett Silvertips over the course of 3 and a half Western Hockey League seasons. Hunt recorded 19 career goals to go along with 29 career assists during his time in the WHL. The 6'0, 198 lb right winger is expected to make his Kings' debut on Tuesday when the Kings travel to Portage.
Kings Trade Defenceman
January 11th, 2010 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have traded 18 year old defenceman Tyson Newell to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in exchange for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League list rights to 1993 born forward Derek Falloon and 1994 born defenceman David Heath. Falloon is currently playing with the Parkland Rangers of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League, while Heath is playing with the Southwest Cougars.
16 year old forward Derek Falloon currently leads the Rangers with 7 goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 20 games. The Russell, MB native is currently in his second season with the Rangers. 15 year old defenceman David Heath has recorded two assists in 15 games this season. The steady defenceman is from Melita, MB and is in his first season with the Cougars.

Kings Acquire Goal Scorer
December 31st, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have acquired 19 year old forward Devin Mitzner from the Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in exchange for future considerations.
The Strathmore, AB native was in his second season in the SJHL before being acquired by the Kings. Mitzner, a 5'10, 181 lb forward registered 21 goals and 14 assists last season with the Flin Flon Bombers. Mitzner was leading the SJHL in goal scoring this season with 27 to go along with 17 assists for 44 points.
Kings Acquire Michaud
December 7th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have acquired 20 year old forward Justin Michaud from the Selkirk Steelers in exchange for 20 year old Brendan Baumgartner and future considerations.
Michaud, a native of Selkirk, MB, had 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points along with 68 penalty minutes in 29 games with Selkirk before being traded to Dauphin.
The 6'2, 215 lb forward made his Kings debut this past weekend in OCN.
Kings Trade Lawrence
December 1st, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings announced today that they have traded 20 year old forward David Lawrence to the Battlefords North Stars of the SJHL in exchange for future considerations.
Lawrence was acquired from the Winkler Flyers and suited up for the Kings in 11 games, registering 4 assists.
With the move, the Kings now have 21 players on the active roster.
Ziemer Now A King
November 24th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Kings are excited to announce that they have acquired 20 year old forward Zeanan Ziemer from the OCN Blizzard. The Kings sent 17 year old Brett Fargher, 17 year old Justin Slobozian, the MJHL list rights to David Greyeyes and future considerations to the Blizzard.
Ziemer, a Brandon, MB native, has been an offensive threat since entering into the MJHL. Ziemer has 13 goals and 29 assists for 42 points in 28 games this season.
“We had to give up youth to acquire a veteran who makes us a better club today,” Kings’ Head Coach Marlin Murray said today. “The Dauphin Kings are hosting the RBC Cup this spring; there’s lots of pressure on us to win this season."
“Zeanan fits right in our top six forward group. He’s a dynamic player, who is highly skilled and a game breaker. We gave up a bit of our future to win now.”
Most Kings' fans will remember Ziemer from when he wore Buternowski on the back of his jersey. Zeanan's full name is Zeanan Ziemer-Buternowski, with Ziemer being his father's last name and Buternowski being his mother's last name. Zeanan made the change to Ziemer on the back of his jersey this season to honour his father who passed away this summer.
Kings Complete Pair Of Deals
November 10th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Kings announced a pair of trades today, as they moved 20 year old Allias Kalinsky to the Steinbach Pistons for future considerations. In a separate deal, the Kings moved Jacob Verheyden to the Winnipeg Saints in exchange for future considerations.
The Kings have also signed 19 year old forward Travis Cech who comes to Dauphin after spending time with the Humboldt Broncos.
Kings Acquire Lawrence From Flyers
November 4th, 2009 - Dauphin. MB - The Dauphin Kings have aquired 20 year old forward David Lawrence from the Winkler Flyers in exchange for 19 year old defenceman Colin Paull.
In Lawrence, the Kings have acquired a speedy, skilled centreman capable of producing offensively. Along with Lawrence, the Kings also receive future considerations from the Flyers.
Kings Trade Durston
October 18th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have traded 20 year old forward Stu Durston to the Winnipeg South Blues in exchange for future considerations.
Durston recorded 1 goal and 2 assists in 9 games with the Kings prior to being traded to the Blues. He also had 17 penalty minutes.

Kings Sign Local Player
October 18th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have signed 17 year old defenseman Justin Slobozian. The Dauphin native spent last season with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League.
Slobozian, a 6' tall, 184 lb player can play both defense and forward. He recorded 4 assists in 46 career WHL games before joining the Kings.
Slobozian made his Dauphin debut Sunday against the Steelers.
Kings Introduce Two New Players
October 11th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - Your Dauphin Kings are excited to announce the signing of two players with Western Hockey League experience.
The Kings first signing came on Wednesday when they signed 20 year old defenseman Patrick Kozyra. The 6'2, 195 lb defenseman comes to the Kings after starting the 2009/10 season with the Prince Albert Raiders. The Sherwood Park, AB native recorded 2 goals and 27 assists for 29 points during his Western Hockey League career which was spent with the Prince Albert Raiders, Medicine Hat Tigers, Spokane Chiefs and Red Deer Rebels over the course of 3 seasons.
Kozyra has recorded 1 goal and 2 assists in 3 games with the Kings so far this season.
Dauphin wasn't done there, as they signed 20 year old forward Cody Esposito on Thursday. The 6'3, 204 lb power forward came to the Kings after 3 seasons in the WHL. The Airdrie, AB native spent time with the Spokane Chiefs and Red Deer Rebels before joining the Kings. Esposito recorded 9 goals and 20 assists along with 318 penalty minutes in 167 career WHL games.

Kings Trade Gabel
October 11th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have traded 19 year old forward Logan Gabel to the Trenton Golden Hawks of the CJHL in exchange for future considerations.
Gabel, from Chestermere, AB, recorded one assist in 4 games before being traded to Trenton. Gabel was acquired from the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL earlier in the season.
Kings Move Carter
October 6th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - Your Dauphin Kings announced the trading of 20 year old forward Jimmy Carter to the Steinbach Pistons today in exchange for 16 year goaltender prospect Tyler Oswald and future considerations.
Carter leaves the Kings having scored 2 goals and 3 assists in 9 games. In Oswald, the Kings acquire a top end 16 year old goaltender who is playing with the Pembina Valley Hawks of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League. The Sanford. MB native is entering his second season with the Hawks. Oswald is picking up where he left off last season, as he's 1-0 so far this season. He led the MMAAAHL in goals against average last season with a sparkling 1.94 GAA.
Kings Ink Memorial Cup Winner
October 4th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings are extremely excited to announce the signing of 20 year old forward Mitch Czibere. The mature left winger comes to Dauphin after spending time with the Vancouver Giants and Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League.
Czibere is a proven winner, having won a Western Hockey League title with the Vancouver Giants during the 2005/06 season, which was followed by a Memorial Cup victory at the 2007 Mastercard Memorial Cup the following season.
Czibere enters his fifth season of junior hockey this year, after spending three seasons with the Giants and one season with the Pats. The Fort Saskatchewan, AB native recorded 27 goals and 58 assists for 85 career points in 253 Western Hockey League regular season games. The skilled, 6' and 188 lb forward saw his best offensive season come last season, when he recorded 11 goals and 18 assists in 53 games. Czibere was a career +22 in the WHL.

Kings Make Pair Of Deals
October 3rd, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings announced a pair of trades today. One move saw the Kings trade away a defenseman, while the other move brought in an 18 year old defenseman.
The Kings traded 18 year old defenseman Peyton Hutchinson to the K & A Wolverines of the SIJHL in exchange for future considerations. Hutchinson played in one regular season game with the Kings prior to being traded.
In the other deal, the Kings acquired 18 year old defenseman Devon Speiss from the Battlefords North Stars of the SJHL in exchange for future considerations. Speiss, from Neepawa, MB, recorded one assist in 3 games with the North Stars prior to joining Dauphin. The 6'1 defenseman played with the Yellowhead Chiefs last season where he was named a league All-Star.
Kings Complete Pair Of Deals
September 25th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Kings have pulled off a pair of deals, as they acquired 19 year old forward Logan Gabel from the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL, and traded 20 year old forward Dustin Fummerton to the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the CJHL.
In Gabel, the Kings acquire a skilled forward who recorded 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points in 51 games last season with the Calgary Royals and Lloydminster Bobcats. Gabel is known as very hard worker who is capable of playing on both the power play and penalty kill. Logan is expected to arrive in Dauphin this afternoon (Friday). The Kings sent future considerations to Brooks in exchange for Gabel.
In the other deal of the day, the Kings sent forward Dustin Fummerton to the Pembroke Lumber Kings in exchange for future considerations.
Olinyk Re-Assigned to Thrashers
September 24th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - With the Manitoba AAA Midget roster deadline quickly approaching for the two Winnipeg teams playing in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League, the Dauphin Kings have re-assigned 17 year old forward Jeremy Olinyk to the Winnipeg Thrashers.
Olinyk suited up for the Kings against the Steinbach Pistons, where he recoreded his first Manitoba Junior Hockey League goal, helping the Kings defeat Steinbach 4-1.
Olinyk played with the Thrashers during the 2008/09 season, where he finished with 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points in 36 games. He was also 8th in league scoring in the playoffs, as he recorded 5 goals and 6 assists in 11 games.
Kings Acquire 19 Year Old Forward
September 17th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have acquired 19 year old forward Colton Graf from the Battlefords North Stars of the SJHL in exchange for 18 year old defenceman Koltyn Miller.
In Graf, the Kings acquire a 6', 212lb centreman with an abundance of offensive skill. The Watson, SK native recorded 12 goals and 21 assists for 33 points last season with the North Stars. He recorded 10 points in 26 games during the 2006/07 campaign. Graf also spent time with the Chilliwack Bruins of the Western Hockey League as a 16 and 17 year old, where he suited up in 24 games.

Kings Complete Pair Of Trades
September 12th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings made a pair of trades recently, as they traded 20 year old defenceman Alex McKinnon and 18 year old goaltender Alex Micalef to the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL. The Kings received future considerations in exchange for McKinnon and Micalef.
In another move, the Kings acquired 20 year old forward Jacob Verheyden from the Burnaby Express of the BCHL in exchange for future considerations. The 5'11", 190 lb forward recorded 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points in 41 games last season with Burnaby. Verheyden suited up for the Kings in Selkirk Saturday night and in Steinbach Sunday afternoon. He scored his first goal with Dauphin against the Pistons, as the Kings defeated Steinbach 4-1.
Kings Sign Goaltender Joe Caligiuri
September 1st, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings are excited to announce the signing of 20 year old goaltender Joe Caligiuri. The Winnipeg, MB native has spent the last three seasons playing in the WHL with the Brandon Wheat Kings and Prince George Cougars.
Caligiuri started his junior career in 2006/07 with the Brandon Wheat Kings, finishing the season with an impressive 11-5-2 record. He managed to play even better during the following season, earning 30 wins, as he went 30-19-2 in 54 games.
"I want to win," says Caligiuri, who enters his first season in the MJHL. "Our whole team wants to win the league championship. I know it's a long season and lots can happen, but that's our goal."

Kings Acquire 18 Year Old Defenceman
August 6th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have traded 20 year old defenceman Brad Biggers and 19 year old forward Curtis Brolund to the Nipawin Hawks of the SJHL in exchange for 18 year old defenceman Koltyn Miller.
In Miller, the Kings acquire a smart, puck moving defenceman with Western Hockey League experience. Miller registered 1 goal and 6 assists for 7 points along with 34 penalty minutes in 38 regular season games with the Regina Pats last season.
Dauphin Welcomes Defenceman
July 30th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Kings have acquired 19 year old defenceman Mike Boese from the Fort Frances Sabres of the SIJHL in exchange for future considerations.
Boese will bring a calming presence to the back end, as he plays a very smart and composed style. He is a great skater who thinks the game very well.

July 27th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have traded 20 year old forward Brendan Arniel to the Buffalo Jr. Sabres of the OJHL.
The Kings received future considerations in exchange for Arniel, who recorded 1 goal and 6 assists in 49 games last season.
Kings Add Two Forwards
July 14th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings are pleased to announce that they have acquired 20 year old Dustin Fummerton in a trade with the North Bay Skyhawks for future considerations. Fummerton is a smaller player who is very skilled that will add speed and scoring to the Kings line-up in 09/10, as they continue to add players to their roster as hosts of the 2010 Royal Bank Cup.
Dustin dominated the last 2 years by scoring 48 goals and 95 assists for 143 points in two seasons. He is coming off a very strong 2008/09 season, as he registered 83 points.
Head Coach and GM Marlin Murray is very excited to add such a talented player. “Dustin will be a very good player for us this year. He plays in all situations and will be a dynamic player every time he is on the ice. He has been to a RBC cup before, and has dominated as an 18 and 19 year old. Dustin is looking forward to coming to Dauphin!”
In other news, 20 year old Allias Kalinsky has decided to join the Dauphin Kings for the upcoming season. Kalinsky was the player that the Kings received from the Estevan Bruins when they moved Richard Jodoin at the deadline last season. At the time, Kalinsky needed to step back from hockey and re-evaluate his goals.
Kalinsky is a big power forward. He is 6’4 and 229 lbs, and likes to play an in your face style, which will be appreciated by coach Murray.
“He is a real big body who has great hands around the net. He plays tough; he won't back down and I really like his size. He will be an excellent fit here and will add some depth on the right side of our forward group,” explains Murray. "Allias will be an important part of our hockey club during the upcoming season."
Bryce Lamb Signs With The Kings
May 28th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings jump started the off-season when they announced the signing of 20 year old forward Bryce Lamb. Lamb has spent the previous three seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Prince Albert Raiders.
Lamb, a native of Killarney, MB, recorded 19 goals and 31 assists for 50 points in 171 career WHL games with the Raiders. The 5'11 centreman will be looked upon to be a leader and key contributor with the Kings during the 2009/10 season. In Lamb, the Kings have a smart, hardworking centreman who will make everyone around him better.

Kings Trade For Forward
May 25th, 2009 - Dauphin, MB - The Dauphin Kings have acquired 20 year old Brendan Baumgartner from the Fort Frances Jr. Sabres of the SIJHL in exchange for future considerations.
Baumgartner, from Edmonton, AB, is a gritty, hard working centreman. The 5'9, 204 pound forward led his team in goals last season with 35. He also assisted on 35 goals for 70 points in only 49 games.
